The General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) has completedthe deliberations on the entirety of the second part of the "Draft Law on Amendments to the Turkish Penal Code and CertainOther Laws," known publicly as the "11th JudicialPackage."The discussions have concluded.

 

PATH TO RELEASE FOR 50 THOUSAND INMATES OPACCEPTED

 

Article 27 of the 11th JudicialPackage, known in the public eye as the "Covid-19regulation" and which paves the way for the release of 50,000 prisoners, has been accepted. Thus, those convicted of crimes committed on or before July 31, 2023,will be able to transferfrom closed prisonsto openprisons.to open prison, andopen prison to supervised release 3 years earlier.

 

EARTHQUAKE CRIMES EXCLUDEDFROM THE SCOPE
