As Özgür Özel had announced: The expected move against Akın Gürlek has come from the CHP!

The Republican People's Party (CHP) has filed a criminal complaint against Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek.

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel had made statements regarding Gürlek's assets during a press conference held the day before. Özel stated that he had shared title deed records of real estate he claimed Gürlek owned before being appointed to the ministry, alleging that the total value of the 12 properties was 325.5 million Turkish Lira.

Özel further argued that the total value of the properties Gürlek owned and subsequently disposed of reached 452 million Turkish Lira.

Following the allegations, Akın Gürlek issued a statement on his social media account, describing the assessments as "a product of imagination" and a "perception operation," stating, "The address for those who claim to truly possess information and documents is not political podiums, but the relevant judicial authorities."

Meanwhile, Özgür Özel had announced during a television program he attended that they would file a criminal complaint against Gürlek. Özel said, "By the way, my friends mentioned it in the meantime. He had said that Akın Gürlek should file a criminal complaint. They have prepared the criminal complaint. Tomorrow morning at 9:05, our lawyers will have uploaded it to UYAP and delivered it to the relevant offices."

It was learned that the CHP had previously filed a criminal complaint against Gürlek. In the application made at the end of 2025, it was alleged that the assets of Gürlek, who was the Chief Public Prosecutor of Istanbul at the time, were not compatible with his income and that the income was derived from criminal activities.
