It has been reported that at least 7 people lost their lives as a result of a collapse at a ferry dock in the US state of Georgia.
Local police noted that a collapse occurred on a gangway of a ferry docking at Sapelo Island in the city of McIntosh, where members of the local Gullah-Geechee community had gathered for a fall festival, causing many people to fall into the water.
It was stated that at least 7 people lost their lives due to the accident, many injured were taken to hospitals, and search and rescue operations are ongoing.
US President Joe Biden, in a written statement, expressed his deep sadness over the accident and noted that he is closely monitoring the situation.
