Attack on Turkish fishing boat in the Black Sea: Injured brought to Kastamonu

Five people on board the Turkish-flagged fishing boat "Duru 67" were injured after it was attacked off the coast of Sevastopol, west of Crimea. The injured were transferred to another fishing boat in the area named "Burak Kaya".

One of the injured individuals on the boat, which was sailing toward İnebolu, lost their life during the journey.

COAST GUARD AND MEDICAL TEAMS MOBILIZED

Following the distress call from the fishing boat, the TCGSG-96 vessel belonging to the Coast Guard Command was dispatched. The vessel carried a 19-person expert team consisting of 4 doctors, 15 UMKE (National Medical Rescue Team) personnel, as well as nurses and auxiliary health workers.

The teams, which departed from İnebolu Port yesterday at 12:35, made contact with the fishing boat located approximately 115 miles offshore at around 19:20.

INJURED TRANSFERRED TO HOSPITAL

The body of the deceased and the injured fishermen were subsequently taken onto the Coast Guard vessel. The injured received initial medical intervention from the expert health teams on board.

The TCGSG-96, which began its return to İnebolu, reached the port at around 03:00. The four injured individuals were taken off the vessel and transferred to Kastamonu Training and Research Hospital by ambulance.

The body of the deceased citizen was taken to the morgue by a funeral vehicle.
