Attention Ankara residents! These roads in the capital will be closed to traffic tomorrow
As part of the Bilkent Road Race to be held in Ankara tomorrow, vehicle traffic will be suspended at certain hours on various main arteries and connecting roads.
As part of the Bilkent Road Race taking place on Sunday morning, April 19, traffic regulations will be implemented for drivers on some major routes across the city. The Ankara Police Department announced that temporary traffic restrictions will be necessary to ensure the event is completed safely and that citizens will need to use alternative routes.
According to the information provided, starting from 08:30, if deemed necessary, Bilkent Boulevard and the Bilkent Boulevard intersection, as well as the two right lanes heading toward Bilkent on İhsan Doğramacı Boulevard, will be closed to vehicle traffic.
In the same context, the road between the İhsan Doğramacı Boulevard intersection and 1597th Street, specifically between the Doğramacızade Ali Paşa Mosque and the RTÜK building, will be completely closed to traffic in both directions.
On the other hand, the route on Şehit Jandarma Asteğmen Mustafa Tayyar Can Street from the 2nd Bilkent Boulevard intersection to the Bilkent Boulevard intersection will also be closed to vehicle passage in the direction of the city center. 1597th Street and all streets and avenues opening onto it will be closed to traffic in both directions.
Authorities advise drivers to pay attention to traffic signs and warnings at the specified times and closure points, and to prefer public transportation and alternative routes during the event.
