Attention those making weekend plans: Orange and yellow alert from AFAD for 64 provinces!

According to the statement made by AFAD, strong winds and storms are expected tomorrow in the Marmara, Aegean, Western Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, Black Sea, and the northern parts of Eastern Anatolia regions.

The statement noted that, based on the latest information and assessments received from the General Directorate of Meteorology, an "orange" meteorological alert has been issued for 44 provinces, including Afyonkarahisar, Aksaray, Amasya, Ankara, Antalya, Artvin, Balıkesir, Bartın, Bayburt, Bolu, Burdur, Bursa, Çanakkale, Çankırı, Çorum, Denizli, Düzce, Giresun, Gümüşhane, Isparta, İstanbul, İzmir, Karabük, Kastamonu, Kayseri, Kırıkkale, Kırşehir, Kocaeli, Konya, Kütahya, Manisa, Muğla, Ordu, Rize, Sakarya, Samsun, Sinop, Sivas, Tekirdağ, Tokat, Trabzon, Yalova, Yozgat, and Zonguldak.

Additionally, a "yellow" meteorological alert was issued for 20 provinces, including Adana, Adıyaman, Ardahan, Aydın, Bilecik, Edirne, Erzincan, Erzurum, Eskişehir, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Karaman, Kars, Kırklareli, Malatya, Mersin, Nevşehir, Niğde, Osmaniye, and Uşak.

The statement indicated that notifications have been sent to governorships, district governorships, and provincial AFAD directorates in the provinces under alert, and that teams are on high alert.

The statement reminded citizens to be cautious against negative consequences such as roof damage, the toppling of trees or utility poles, stove and chimney gas poisoning, icing and frost, and disruptions in transportation.

According to the color-coded warning system determined by the General Directorate of Meteorology, the "yellow" code, which means "the weather is potentially dangerous," serves as a warning that "the predicted meteorological event is not unusual, but caution should be exercised regarding activities that may be affected by meteorological conditions."

The "orange" code means that "the weather is dangerous." This code includes the warning: "The predicted meteorological event is not frequently observed. Damage and losses are likely. You should be very cautious and follow current meteorological conditions and forecasts."
