Autopsy report for the Böcek family released

The investigation continues into the deaths of mother Çiğdem Böcek (27), father Servet Böcek (38), and their children, 3-year-old Masal and 6-year-old Kadir Muhammet Böcek, who arrived in Istanbul from Germany for tourism on November 9, 2025, and lost their lives on November 13, 2025, due to suspected 'poisoning'.

STATED THAT IT DID NOT OCCUR AS A RESULT OF FOOD POISONING

As part of the investigation, a report was prepared by the Council of Forensic Medicine based on towels, masks, and swab samples taken from the hotel. The report stated that no medical evidence was found indicating that the family died due to traumatic impact and that their deaths did not occur as a result of food poisoning.

The report noted that two other people staying at the same hotel were also reported to have been poisoned, and that toxicological analyses of samples taken from the hotel where they stayed detected active ingredients found in pesticides.

DEATHS OCCURRED AS A RESULT OF 'POISONING DUE TO PESTICIDE'

The report further stated that, taking into account the environment in which the family was found, the manner in which they were found, crime scene investigation findings, and the circumstances of their deaths, it was concluded that their deaths occurred as a result of 'poisoning due to pesticide' applied at the hotel to kill insects.
