Ayhan Bora Kaplan earthquake continues in the Police Department: Police Chief Alp Aslan suspended
Alp Aslan, a first-class police chief and former Deputy Ankara Police Chief who was alleged to have close ties to Ayhan Bora Kaplan, who was arrested on charges of being the leader of a criminal organization, has been suspended. In addition to Aslan, it was learned that former Deputy Police Chiefs Volkan Murat Kaşıkçı and Mukadder Kardiyen have also been suspended.
Former Deputy Police Chief in charge of Organized Crime Alp Aslan, who was suspended due to allegations of having close ties to Ayhan Bora Kaplan, who was arrested on charges of being the leader of a criminal organization, was known as one of the names closest to former Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu.
Following the appointment of Ali Yerlikaya as Minister of Interior, Aslan had been reassigned to the position of police chief inspector, often referred to as a sidelined role.
According to reports by Asuman Aranca from T24, the repercussions of the investigation into Ayhan Bora Kaplan and his associates, who were arrested on charges of leading a criminal organization known in the Ankara underworld as the "Kaplans," continue.
While debates persist regarding whether Kaplan's connections within the police and judiciary will be investigated following his arrest, another critical development has occurred within the Ankara Police Department. It was learned that Alp Aslan, known as one of the names in Soylu's close working team and who served as the Organized Crime Branch Manager in Ankara for a long time, has been suspended. In addition to Aslan, Deputy Police Chiefs Volkan Murat Kaşıkçı, who previously oversaw public order for a time, and Mukadder Kardiyen were the other individuals suspended.
