Yalıkavak Marina, one of Bodrum's popular yacht harbors, was the scene of a major disaster just before the Ramadan Feast. A fire that broke out on a yacht during the night spread rapidly to other motor yachts in the vicinity. In the incident, which affected a total of eight vessels, seven motor yachts were rendered unusable, while one yacht sustained serious damage. It is stated that the financial damage caused by the fire could reach 150 million euros.

Among the yachts that were damaged or completely destroyed in the fire were luxury vessels belonging to well-known figures in the business world and some foreign businesspeople. Businessperson Ozan Şer, who lost his motor yacht named "Cher" valued at approximately 25 million dollars, was in London visiting his sons. It was learned that Şer returned to Turkey immediately after hearing the news of the fire while abroad.

According to the report in Sözcü, during the fire that lasted throughout the night, a motor yacht belonging to İbrahim Levent, the son-in-law of one of the unforgettable names of Turkish cinema, Ayhan Işık, was also consumed by flames. Additionally, among the yachts that were damaged or saved just before they could catch fire were Aziz Yıldırım's boat named "Lady Yaz" and "Desiree Bleue," owned by Demet Sabancı Çetindoğan. It was learned that the fire had approached within just one boat's distance of Yıldırım's yacht, and that the fire was brought under control by chance.
