Baby found wrapped in blood-stained cloth in abandoned house

The incident occurred yesterday around 15:00 in Yalıbahçe Street, İskenderpaşa Neighborhood, in the central Sur district. Citizens who heard a baby crying on the stairs of an abandoned house on the street went out to investigate. A local resident named Hakan, who took the newborn baby boy out of a bag, first reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center and then took the baby, who was wrapped in a blood-stained cloth, to his home to clean and warm him up.

Police teams from the Sur District Police Department arrived at the scene, took custody of the baby boy from the citizen, and handed him over to medical teams. The baby was taken to the hospital for treatment.

MOTHER WHO ABANDONED THE BABY CAUGHT

After examining security cameras in the area, the District Police Department teams determined that the person who abandoned the baby was the mother, M.C. (26). As a result of their work, the teams caught and detained the mother. It was stated that the woman is continuing her treatment at the hospital.

The young man named Hakan, who lives in the neighborhood, recounted the moments he saw the baby left to die in the abandoned house wrapped in a blood-stained cloth and saved him during the horrifying incident.

"IT HAD BEEN PUT INSIDE A BAG WRAPPED IN A BLOOD-STAINED CLOTH"

Stating that the baby was shivering and crying, Hakan explained that he cleaned and then warmed the baby at home until the medical and police teams arrived, saying, "Yesterday's incident took place around 15:00 in the İskenderpaşa Neighborhood of the Sur district. Neighbors suddenly started shouting when the baby cried. I went out of the house and took the baby out of the bag. The baby was wrapped in a blood-stained cloth. The baby was shivering from the cold.

We took the baby home and placed him in front of the stove to warm up until the police and medical teams arrived. The baby started to recover a little afterwards. Later, when the police teams arrived, we handed the baby over to them. The cloth wrapped around the baby was completely blood-stained.

We set that cloth aside and wrapped the baby in a clean one. If you cannot take care of them, take them to child protection services. Why are you leaving a tiny baby to die?" he said.
