With 100 days remaining until the NATO Summit to be held in Turkey's capital, Ankara, in 2026, NATO shared a photograph of Anıtkabir, the eternal resting place of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, on its social media accounts.
This notable post included the statement, "100 days to go until the 2026 NATO Summit in Ankara, Turkey." NATO noted that this summit will be the second to be held in Turkey, with the first having taken place in Istanbul in 2004. The post stated that the summits bring together allied leaders to make decisions on important issues facing the Alliance.
BACKLASH FROM SOCIALIST INSTITUTIONS
Socialist and left-wing institutions reacted harshly to NATO's Anıtkabir post. The Ankara Provincial Organization of the Workers' Party of Turkey (TİP) posted the note "If you have a future, you also have a reckoning" on its social media account following the post, while a post from the Revolutionary Youth Associations account included the phrase, "Rest assured, you will be treated as necessary."
The Revolution Party shared a message stating, "They will leave just as they came."
