Bahçeli offers praise to Davutoğlu, whom he previously attacked as 'Serok Ahmet': 'Your expertise is valuable'

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli and Future Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu chatted at the parliamentary reception.

Bahçeli, who has addressed Davutoğlu as 'Serok Ahmet' in many of his speeches, said regarding the Palestine issue: "Your expertise is very important at this time; Turkey needs your knowledge. You have had very good commentary on television, I was pleased."

Bahçeli's praise for Future Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu, whom he has criticized with harsh words in many of his speeches, drew attention.

Bahçeli also commented on the merger efforts with the DEVA Party, saying, "I am following it, I congratulate you."

Bahçeli, who shook hands with DEM Party members at the opening session of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, had said, "We are entering a new era; while we want peace in the world, we must ensure peace in our own country."

THE 'DON'T BE UPSET' DIALOGUE WITH ÖZEL

At the same reception, Bahçeli also spoke to CHP Chairman Özel, whom he encountered, saying, "I hope we are not hurting each other. Don't be upset! Sometimes there are things we have to say politically. It is a necessity of politics." Özel responded to Bahçeli's words by saying, "Everyone says what they believe to be true. The important thing is not to show a lack of respect and affection."
