Banu Alkan's condolence message to Safiye Soyman sparks backlash
Banu Alkan faced backlash for adding foreign music to a video she posted to offer condolences to Safiye Soyman, who lost her child, and for tagging world-famous singers in the post. After the criticism, Alkan changed the caption and issued a statement regarding the matter.
Harun Akaröz, the son of Safiye Soyman who had been battling MS for years, passed away on Saturday.
As Soyman laid her child to rest yesterday, a post by her partner from the program "Dünya Güzellerim," Banu Alkan, drew backlash.
Banu Alkan shared a video from the filming of "Dünya Güzellerim" on her Instagram account, adding foreign music to it while offering her condolences.

Alkan, who tagged names like Kylie Jenner and Jennifer Lopez in the post, wrote, "My dear Safiye, my condolences. The greatest of pains. May he rest in light, may God grant you patience."
Banu Alkan, who became the target of criticism due to the music and the tags, deleted the caption and responded.
Banu Alkan, who received comments such as "This doesn't suit you," "This music is inappropriate for a condolence," and "You failed in terms of humanity," expressed her outrage.

Stating that she would take legal action regarding the negative comments, Alkan said, "No one has the right to make all kinds of comments over a video shared by my assistant. Those who know Banu Alkan know very well that those writing from fake accounts to someone who has never done anything wrong are being shameful. My lawyer will identify all the accounts, and after the facts are revealed, the legal process will begin. Furthermore, I offered my condolences to my dear Safiye for her child in my story. I am a personal witness to what an excellent mother she is."
