Syrian President's Special Media Advisor Luna al-Shibl, who was expected to participate in potential talks between Turkey and Syria, has died at al-Shami Hospital following a traffic accident on one of the roads leading to Damascus.
Various reports have circulated suggesting a mysterious element to the incident, claiming that an armored vehicle rear-ended her car, pushing it into the middle of the road. Another report stated that the vehicle that hit her had a metal support on its front, which allegedly caused al-Shibl to suffer a severe brain hemorrhage.
SHE WAS EXPECTED TO PLAY AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN RELATIONS WITH TURKEY
The late al-Shibl was expected to be a key actor in the negotiations between Turkey and Syria. Furthermore, her husband, a general, was recently arrested in a special operation by the Iran-backed Popular Mobilization Forces from Assad's palace in Damascus.
