'Beyran' attack on restaurant: Gunman opens fire

An individual, whose name has not yet been learned, ordered a beyran from a restaurant operated by Mustafa Odabaşı in the Yeditepe neighborhood.

Finding the price too high, the customer argued with the courier and rejected the order.

After speaking with the business owner over the phone, the customer and his companions arrived at the restaurant, fought with the owner, Odabaşı, and his employees, and then opened fire with a handgun toward the shop before fleeing.

Business owner Mustafa Odabaşı told reporters that they had recently increased the price of beyran.

Explaining that the attacker had ordered a beyran, Odabaşı said the following:

"We sent the package. We had raised the price of the beyran from 100 liras to 120 liras. Upon hearing about the price hike, the customer refused to take the beyran and assaulted the courier while insulting him. We called him to ask why he was acting this way. He started swearing on the phone again.

He threatened us, saying, 'I will burn your shop down, I will destroy it.' The incident happened around noon, but the customer raided my shop around 16:00 and opened fire into the air and the surroundings.

Nine people attacked us. I said, 'Let's talk,' but they attacked me. They first fired into the air, then turned and aimed at me; I crouched to the ground."

Odabaşı noted that they have filed a complaint against the attackers and want them to be apprehended.

One person has been taken into custody in connection with the incident.

Meanwhile, the armed attack was captured on the restaurant's security camera. The footage shows the group arriving, entering the shop to fight with the owner, Odabaşı, and firing at the shop as they left.
