Birthday note from Özgür Özel to İmamoğlu: 'Half of my heart is imprisoned with you'

While tensions remain high in the CHP following court rulings and the "absolute nullity" crisis, elected Chairman Özgür Özel has offered meaningful support to Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is currently in prison. On the occasion of İmamoğlu's birthday, Özel sent an emotional letter he penned by hand to Silivri Prison.

As debates over management and legitimacy continue within the CHP, the party's elected leader, Özgür Özel, did not forget Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is being held in Silivri as part of the IMM case. Celebrating İmamoğlu's new age with a special note delivered to the prison, Özel expressed his reaction to the judicial processes and delivered a message of determination in his note.

"WE ARE IN DIFFICULT DAYS BUT WE WILL WIN"

In the note, which Özgür Özel wrote entirely in his own handwriting and in which he emphasized his friendship and political loyalty to İmamoğlu, the following expressions were included:

"My dear Mayor;

You know that half of my heart is imprisoned with you in Silivri.

We are in very difficult days, but we will succeed, we will win.

Happy birthday. The days when I will embrace you in your freedom are not far away.

Happy birthday. I am glad you are my friend."
