Hamas: "The number of Israeli captives is many times higher than what Netanyahu thinks"

Hamas claimed that the number of Israelis taken captive is "many times higher" than what Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thinks and that they are located all over the Gaza Strip.

Abu Obeida, spokesperson for the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, said in a statement to Al-Aqsa TV that the "Al-Aqsa Flood" operation, launched to defend the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Palestinian prisoners, is ongoing.

Stating that Israel is facing a deep crisis due to the attack, Abu Obeida claimed that dozens of Israelis have been taken captive and that "the number of Israeli captives is many times higher than what Netanyahu thinks."

Abu Obeida stated that Israeli captives are present throughout the Gaza Strip and expressed that whatever Israel does to the people of Gaza will be applied to the Israeli captives as well.

Pointing to Netanyahu's threats, Abu Obeida used the expression, "Are you threatening us with an army that fell before us like locusts, with hundreds of them leaving their weapons and tanks in front of our resistance fighters and fleeing?"

WHAT HAPPENED?

The Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced yesterday morning that they had launched a comprehensive attack on Israel called "Al-Aqsa Flood."

While thousands of rockets were fired from Gaza toward Israel, armed groups entered settlements in the region.

The Israeli army also announced that it had launched an attack on the Gaza Strip with dozens of fighter jets.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that 232 people had lost their lives and 1,697 people had been injured in Israel's attacks on Gaza.

In the Israeli press, it was reported that 300 Israelis have died so far in the attacks launched by Hamas's armed wing, and the number of wounded across the country has risen to 1,590.
