In Kartal, Istanbul, 16-year-old Mustafa Ç. approached Emirhan F., who was sitting in a park with his friends and with whom he had a previous dispute, said 'From now on, you are my enemy,' used profanity, and shot Emirhan F. in the kneecaps with a handgun he pulled from his waistband.

Mustafa Ç. and his friend Gültekin Atmaca, who was with him, fled the scene. A short while later, Yasin Mengen, one of the friends who was with Emirhan F. when he was wounded, stabbed Gültekin Atmaca, who was traveling alone on a motorcycle and had been with Mustafa Ç. on the day of the incident.

Gültekin Atmaca, who was only present with the person who did the shooting during the incident, lost his life at the hospital where he was taken.

4 PEOPLE SENT TO PRISON

Following the incident, teams from the Kartal Police Department and the Public Security Branch Directorate's Murder Bureau launched an investigation and detained 4 out of 5 people, including Mustafa Ç. and Emirhan F.

The 4 individuals referred to the court were arrested and sent to prison.

BEHIND THE SCENES OF THE MURDER

According to allegations, the incident that took place in Atalar Neighborhood in Kartal, Istanbul, unfolded as follows.

16-year-old Mustafa Ç., along with his friend, 19-year-old Gültekin Atmaca, arrived on a motorcycle to where 16-year-old Emirhan F. was sitting in a park with 4 of his friends. Mustafa Ç. began using heavy profanity, saying, 'From now on, you are my enemy.'

He then pulled a handgun from his waistband, shot Emirhan F., and wounded him in the kneecap. While Mustafa Ç. and his friend Gültekin Atmaca fled the scene, Emirhan F. was taken to the hospital for treatment.

KILLED FOR BEING WITH THE ATTACKER

A short time after this incident, Yasin Mengen, a friend who was with Emirhan F. in the park, stopped Gültekin Atmaca, who was traveling alone on a motorcycle, and began stabbing him.

Gültekin Atmaca, who was wounded by a knife in his left back and left knee, lost his life at the hospital where he was taken.

Gültekin Atmaca's friends stated, "His only crime was being with Mustafa Ç., who carried out the shooting."

Following the incident, which resulted in one death and one injury, teams from the Public Security Branch Directorate's Murder Bureau and the Kartal District Police Department's Public Security Bureau launched a joint investigation and detained Yasin Mengen, who stabbed and killed Gültekin Atmaca, as well as Halil Efe Yıldız, Batuhan T., and Hakan K.

After their interrogations, the 4 friends were referred to the Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and were arrested and sent to prison.

Efforts to capture Mustafa Ç., who carried out the shooting, are ongoing.
