Body found in Korkuteli Dam: Confirmed to belong to Kübra Yapıcı

Search efforts initiated after Kübra Yapıcı (30) went missing in the Serik district of Antalya and could not be reached for a long time were carried out under the coordination of the Manavgat, Serik, and Burdur public prosecutor's offices. As a result of the investigations, it was revealed that the young woman was murdered in a forested area near Seydiköy village in the Bucak district of Burdur.

The suspects I.U.D. and A.B.S., who were detained in connection with the incident, were apprehended by gendarmerie teams on May 6. Following the statement given by suspect I.U.D. during interrogation, in which he said, "After burning Yapıcı's body, we threw the remaining parts into the Korkuteli Dam," security forces launched a new search in the area. As a result of the work by AFAD, police, and gendarmerie teams, body parts were found in the Dereköy neighborhood of the dam and sent to the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute for examination.

In the DNA analysis conducted at the Forensic Medicine Institute, the found parts were compared with samples taken from the victim's mother and father, and a full match was obtained. Thus, it was definitively determined that the parts found in the dam belonged to Kübra Yapıcı.

Yapıcı, who was sought as a missing person at the beginning of the investigation, had disappeared on the night of April 30. The multi-faceted efforts initiated to shed light on the incident revealed the tragic end of the young woman. It was reported that the suspects were referred to the courthouse and arrested after their procedures were completed.
