Bomb scare in an apartment building in Bağcılar

The incident occurred at approximately 14:30 on 1548th Street in the Yenimahalle neighborhood of the Bağcılar district. According to allegations, foreign nationals who were living as tenants on the second floor of a two-story building left the home some time ago. The landlord called a repairman to the vacated home for renovations. The repairman, who experienced great panic upon seeing pipes and wires inside a fabric vest in the house, notified the apartment owner. Upon the report, bomb disposal and crime scene investigation teams were dispatched to the scene.

In the work carried out by police teams, it was determined that construction materials had been placed inside the pipes in the vest and it had been made to look like a bomb with cables.

Building resident Dilek Sezer said, "The building is three stories, they were living on the top floor, I was living on the ground floor. They had set up a bomb-like device. There is a place like an attic, they had prepared something wrapped in a vest, whatever they were planning to do. The friend who came to do the renovations for the house found it. The police came, they evacuated us from the house, they cordoned off the building. Then the bomb disposal experts came, they neutralized it, they put the pieces in bags and took them away. Of course I was scared. I went outside, I called my mother, I called my sisters. I was scared, I cried," she said.
