Breaking News: 2 more arrests in the Gülistan Doku investigation!

As part of the investigation conducted by the Tunceli Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the prosecution questioning of 5 suspects brought to the courthouse—Gülistan Doku's boyfriend Zeinal Abakarov, Uğurcan A., and Abakarov's stepfather Engin Yücer, a former police officer—has been completed.

Abakarov and Yücer were referred to the criminal judgeship of peace and were arrested and sent to prison. Uğurcan A. was released under judicial control, including a travel ban. With this development, the number of detainees in the investigation has reached 8.

Meanwhile, the prosecution's processing of Mustafa Türkay Sonel, the son of the governor at the time, Tuncay Sonel, and Şükrü E., who served as the governor's bodyguard during the same period, is ongoing.

6 SUSPECTS HAD BEEN ARRESTED

In the previous phase of the investigation, 15 suspects, including former governor Tuncay Sonel and the then-Chief Physician of Tunceli State Hospital, Çağdaş Özdemir, had been detained.

Within this scope, former police officer Gökhan Ertok, who was alleged to have deleted data from Gülistan Doku's SIM card, former Provincial Special Administration employee Erdoğan Elaldı, Zeinal Abakarov's mother Cemile Yücer, as well as Celal Altaş, Nurşen Arıkan, and Ferhat Hanedan Güven had been arrested.

Savaş G. and Süleyman Ö., who were responsible for security cameras at Munzur University, were released under judicial control with a travel ban.

It was learned that former governor Sonel, who was suspended by the Ministry of Interior, was taken to Erzurum after being detained in Elazığ. It was reported that the processing of former chief physician Özdemir by the gendarmerie is ongoing.
