Breaking News... 20 soldiers were martyred: Statement from the Ministry of National Defense regarding the crashed C-130 aircraft

The Ministry of National Defense has issued a statement regarding the C-130 aircraft that crashed in Azerbaijan, resulting in the martyrdom of 20 soldiers.

“Upon examination of the flight data recorder logs, it was determined that until the moment of the accident, everything was proceeding normally in the digital data records, including the flight crew's communications and the aircraft's systems; no malfunctions were detected, the incident developed suddenly, and the recording ended due to the severance of the power and data cables belonging to the FDR as a result of the aircraft's tail cone section separating from the fuselage; therefore, no additional data that would clarify the accident was found on the recording device.

As a result of detailed examinations conducted on the aircraft's engines and propellers, it was determined that the engines and propellers were operating without issues until the moment of the accident. No situation indicating that the aircraft fuselage was damaged due to propeller detachment was detected.

As a result of the examination of samples taken from the aircraft wreckage by the Gendarmerie Criminal Department, no traces of explosive materials were found either internally or externally.

The reporting of the fracture-section analyses detected in the materials is pending, and at the current stage, it has been determined that the fractures did not originate from fatigue, but the materials exhibited brittle fatigue behavior during tensile tests.”
