RESPONSE FROM AKIN GÜRLEK TO ÖZGÜR ÖZEL

Following Özel's statements, which dominated the agenda, the first statement came from Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek.

In a statement on his X account, Gürlek noted that the title deed records shared by Özel with the public were not real.

Stating that Özel was conducting a perception operation, Gürlek said, "In the face of these slanders, I am immediately initiating the necessary legal processes, primarily for non-pecuniary damages."

"The statements made by Özgür Özel regarding me today are a clear perception operation aimed at misleading the public, based on no evidence whatsoever.

I have been serving my state at various levels for over 20 years. Together with my wife, who is a judge, we regularly submit our asset declarations to the authorized bodies within the framework of the relevant legislation.

These imaginary claims, which appear on the papers handed to Özgür Özel but have no basis in actual title deed records, are entirely intended to mislead the public.

Unfortunately, this approach of his is not new. It has been revealed many times before that the claims he presented to the public in a high-pitched manner were lies.

His irresponsible targeting of me in this way, due to the struggle I have waged against terrorist and organized crime structures during my judicial tenure, is part of a systematic smear campaign.

The address for those who claim to truly have information and documents is not political podiums, but the relevant judicial authorities.

In the face of these slanders, I am immediately initiating the necessary legal processes, primarily for non-pecuniary damages."
