Breaking News: Alarming earthquake in Sındırgı, Balıkesir! Felt in İzmir and Istanbul as well

Tremors continue in the Sındırgı district of Balıkesir, which was shaken by a 6.1 magnitude earthquake on August 10.

According to AFAD data, a 4.9 magnitude earthquake occurred at 12:35.

The epicenter of the tremor was Sındırgı, and it was recorded at a depth of 7.72 kilometers.

It was reported that the tremor was felt in surrounding provinces, primarily İzmir and Istanbul.

STATEMENT FROM YERLİKAYA

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya made a statement on his X account following the earthquake.

A 4.9 magnitude earthquake has occurred in Sındırgı, Balıkesir.

Regarding the earthquake, which was also felt in surrounding provinces, all teams from AFAD and our relevant institutions have immediately begun field surveys.
