Breaking News: Another lawsuit from Erdoğan against Kılıçdaroğlu!

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has filed a 500 thousand TL compensation lawsuit against former CHP chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

The reason cited for the lawsuit was the testimony Kılıçdaroğlu gave in court last week.

Erdoğan's lawyer, Hüseyin Aydın, announced the lawsuit on his social media account with the following statements:

"Immediately after the bloody coup attempt of July 15, 2016, our President withdrew all lawsuits he had filed against Kılıçdaroğlu with the 'hope and will to permanently establish minimum courtesy in our political life.' Despite the eight years that have passed, it is understood that not even an inch of progress has been made on the Kılıçdaroğlu front regarding minimum political courtesy; on the contrary, rudeness and ugly rhetoric have turned into a behavioral pattern. Through a file for which we had withdrawn our complaint and therefore did not request punishment or a political ban, a false perception of victimization was created, and the right to defense was abused to severely violate our President's personal rights. Due to his statements in court, which consisted of a summary of insults and slanders directed at our President, a criminal complaint has been filed against Kılıçdaroğlu with the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, and a 500 thousand TL non-pecuniary damages lawsuit has been filed in the Civil Court of First Instance."

WHAT HAPPENED?

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, the 7th Chairman of the Republican People's Party (CHP), appeared before a judge on November 22 due to an insult lawsuit filed upon the complaint of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Kılıçdaroğlu, who is being tried with a request for up to 11 years and 8 months in prison and a political ban due to his statements regarding then-Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during the December 17-25 process, made a 25-page defense in court.

Kılıçdaroğlu said, "I did not come here to defend myself against a crime, but to put the crimes committed on record, to hold those responsible accountable, and to leave a note for history.

How happy I am that I did not appear before you for the crime of 'theft and embezzlement of orphans' rights.' And again, how happy I am, Mr. Judge, that I did not appear before you for 'treason.'

Greetings to all the heroes, especially the Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Greetings to all patriots who have never spared their lives for the survival of the state and the welfare of the nation, and to the young lieutenants who were expelled for taking an oath of allegiance to Atatürk and the Republic."
