Breaking News... Bahçeli supports Özel's demand for 'Hearings to be broadcast on TRT': 'Since he is so insistent...'

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli spoke at his party's group meeting in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM).

Bahçeli made statements regarding the new opening process he is the architect of, the 12 soldiers who were martyred in the methane gas disaster, and the recent operations targeting CHP-affiliated municipalities.

The highlights from Bahçeli's speech are as follows:

"I wish God's mercy upon our martyrs and offer my condolences to their grieving families. I also wish our heroes who are undergoing treatment a speedy recovery and send them my best regards.

While important developments are taking place regarding the goal of a terror-free Turkey, I consider the distortion of the unfortunate incident we were exposed to by certain circles as a devious opportunism.

Our Turkey is in the middle of a historic process. As steps toward a terror-free Turkey are taken firmly and healthily, we are on alert to neutralize the traps of the instigators who emerge one by one from the holes they were hiding in.

OPERATIONS TARGETING THE CHP

The words of justice and law from mentalities that steal, plunder, and empty the nation's purse and the state's treasury are like writing on water.

Giving water to a tree is justice; giving water to a thorn is cruelty. Justice is putting a blessing in its place, while cruelty is uprooting it.

If the CHP has given water to a tree, there is no need for concern or fear. However, if it has given water to a thorn, it must pay the price to the end.

RESPONSE TO ÖZEL'S DEMAND FOR 'HEARINGS TO BE BROADCAST ON TRT'

The CHP Chairman had demanded that the hearings be broadcast live on television screens. Since he is insistent on this demand, and since he is in favor of our nation following everything firsthand, we hope and wish that this expectation will be evaluated reasonably and legitimately, and that the truth will be revealed before the conscience of the public.

"WANDER THE STREETS AND LET'S SEE WHAT YOU'RE MADE OF"

Continuing his speech, Bahçeli addressed CHP leader Özgür Özel's challenge to AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, "Do not make me invite this nation to the streets," by saying, "Go ahead, wander the streets and let's see, let's see what you're made of!" and added the following:

"The effort shown by the DEM Party to become a party of Turkey is gratifying. However, it is very thought-provoking that the CHP has veered off the path of being a party of Turkey."
