Chief Physician Prof. Dr. İsmet Topçu has issued a statement regarding the health status of Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek, who was struck by an electric current.
Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek wanted to check the machine room for a malfunction in the pool in the garden of his house in Keçiliköy Neighborhood and was struck by an electric current at that moment.
The 48-year-old Zeyrek was taken to the hospital, where his treatment in the intensive care unit continues.
Chief Physician Prof. Dr. İsmet Topçu of the hospital where Zeyrek is being treated made a statement regarding his health status.
Stating that Zeyrek has been in intensive care for 34 hours, Chief Physician Topçu said, "As of now, this is a very dynamic process. It might not be very accurate to say good or bad. We are making every effort we can."
Noting that all physicians, including those in cardiovascular surgery, cardiology, neurology, anesthesia, and intensive care, have been mobilized, Chief Physician Topçu said, "It is a difficult process. There is extensive damage. We are facing serious organ damage and electrical burns. We are also in consultation with experts from all over Turkey. Compared to yesterday, Zeyrek's condition is the same, stable."
