Breaking News... Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had launched an investigation: Access ban imposed on İmamoğlu's X account!

An access ban has been imposed on the communication account on the social media platform X, titled "Presidential Candidate Office," which was opened for Ekrem İmamoğlu, who has been imprisoned in Silivri Prison since March 23, 2025.

It was learned that the account, with the username "CAOIletisim" and approximately 209 thousand followers, was blocked under Article 8/A of Law No. 5651. The "protection of national security and public order" was cited as the reason for the decision.

On the other hand, despite the access ban, the account in question has not yet been made invisible from Turkey by the platform.

CHIEF PUBLIC PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE HAD LAUNCHED AN INVESTIGATION

In a statement made yesterday evening, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that it had launched an investigation into the Presidential Candidate Office account, where İmamoğlu's statements are published, on allegations of "insulting the President" and "publicly disseminating misleading information to the public."

Ekrem İmamoğlu's previously blocked accounts:

• April 24, 2025: His X account with 9.7 million followers (ekrem_imamoglu) was blocked by the decision of the Istanbul 8th Criminal Judgeship of Peace dated April 24, 2025, and numbered 2025/4361, on the grounds of protecting national security and public order, and the X platform made the account invisible from Turkey.
• May 9, 2025: His international X account (imamoglu_int) was blocked in May 2025 for the same reason, and the X platform has not yet made the account invisible from Turkey.
• November 13, 2025: The X account of the Ekrem İmamoğlu Presidential Candidate Office with the username CBAdayOfisi was blocked by the decision of the Istanbul 10th Criminal Judgeship of Peace dated November 13, 2025, and numbered 2025/11774.
• November 14, 2025: Following the ban, the account name was changed to CBAdayOfisi1, but this account name was also blocked on November 14, 2025, for the same reason. The X platform did not make the account invisible from Turkey.
• November 16, 2025: The account name was changed again to CBAdayOfisi11, but this account was also blocked on November 16, 2025, again on the grounds of protecting national security and public order. The X platform made the account invisible from Turkey on November 17, 2025.
