At a time when tensions in the Middle East have risen to this level, we call on the parties to avoid actions that will increase the tension. We are in a period where we need to remember and embrace our founder's legacy of 'Peace at home, peace in the world'." Pointing out that Turkey should be the pioneer of every effort to lower the tension while its surroundings have turned into a ring of fire, Özel stated, "We believe that it will not be possible to stop the escalation in the region and reduce the risk of conflict without achieving a permanent ceasefire in Gaza. In this context, we reiterate our belief that the only valid solution for ensuring peace, tranquility, and stability is the establishment of a Palestinian state with its capital in East Jerusalem within the 1967 borders."
