Breaking News... Clear warning from Erdoğan to the SDF!

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who visited Saudi Arabia and Egypt as part of his international contacts, made assessments regarding the agenda to journalists on his return journey. Erdoğan explained Turkey's policies on various topics ranging from regional tensions to economic cooperation, and from water management to municipal services.

RETURNED FROM BOTH DAMASCUS AND ANKARA

Regarding the conflicts in the region, Erdoğan stated, "Miscalculations have returned from both Damascus and Ankara to date. We have clearly demonstrated that we are against military intervention in Iran."

Touching upon the cooperation between Turkey and Saudi Arabia in the defense industry, Erdoğan noted that the national combat aircraft KAAN has attracted great interest internationally. Pointing out that new joint investments in defense projects with Saudi Arabia are on the agenda, Erdoğan said, "KAAN is not just a fighter jet; it is a symbol of Turkey's independent defense will."

Developments in the fields of economy and energy were also on the leader's agenda. Stating that the meetings held with Saudi Arabia are of great importance in terms of solar and wind energy projects, Erdoğan announced that the implementation of 1,000-megawatt solar power plants in Sivas and Karaman is planned, and a total of 5,000 megawatts of renewable energy investment will be made. It was stated that these projects are targeted to begin within 2027 and will make a significant contribution to the energy sector.

US-IRAN TENSION

Providing information about the tension between the US and Iran, the President said, "We are doing our best to de-escalate the tension between America and Iran before it drags the region into a new conflict and chaos," and underlined that space must be opened for diplomacy. Stating that he has spoken with US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during this process, Erdoğan emphasized that the parties are trying to maintain a ground for consensus.

Conveying that Turkey's stance on the situation in Gaza and the peace plan is clear, Erdoğan stated, "Turkey will play an effective role in ensuring that the Gaza peace plan is implemented as it should be and in restoring peace and stability in Gaza." He drew attention to the fact that Turkey's stance on what is happening in Gaza is human-oriented.

Expressing that Egypt's approach to the Gaza issue shows similarities with Turkey's, Erdoğan said that Egypt provides significant contributions to the organization of aid and plays a critical role in the search for regional peace. Furthermore, he called on the international community to take responsibility, noting that Israel's ceasefire violations are unacceptable.

NOTABLE SDF COMMENT

Regarding the developments in northern Syria and Turkey's security policies, the President stated the following: "The structure known as the SDF complying with the agreements it has signed will strengthen the climate of peace in Syria and facilitate permanent stability." Erdoğan once again underlined that Turkey is a supporter of a single and strong Syria.

TOUCHED UPON THE EARTHQUAKE DISASTER

As the anniversary of the earthquake disaster that occurred in previous years approaches, Erdoğan also made assessments regarding the reconstruction process in the disaster zone. Defending that the delivery of 455,000 residences demonstrates the government's success in disaster management, Erdoğan responded to the opposition's criticisms with harsh language. He announced that he would meet with the nation at the new housing delivery ceremony to be held in Osmaniye on Friday.

CRITICIZED MUNICIPALITIES

Noting that important duties fall to the state and local administrations regarding the management of water resources in Turkey, the President expressed that the protection of water and the public's access to water are priorities. Pointing out that there are problems in supplying water to homes, he gave the message that water management will continue to be strengthened through the cooperation of municipalities and the State Hydraulic Works (DSİ).
