The DEM Party Imralı delegation, consisting of Pervin Buldan and Mithat Sancar, will visit AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Palace today regarding the new resolution process, following their meeting with terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan yesterday.

Before the 15:00 meeting, Buldan and Sancar met with DEM Party Co-Chairs Tuncer Bakırhan and Tülay Hatimoğulları. Following this meeting, Buldan and Sancar made statements to journalists.

Pervin Buldan said regarding the meeting they will hold with Erdoğan, “We hope for a beneficial and productive meeting. We attach great significance to this meeting. Therefore, may it be auspicious for us all once again.”

Stating that the meeting is important, Mithat Sancar said, “We just consulted with our co-chairs. It is known that the process has reached a new stage. We will consult with the President and his delegation on the characteristics of this new stage and the requirements that follow. I would like to commemorate the memory of our brother Sırrı once again. He made great efforts. We will do our part to ensure those efforts reach a conclusion.”

Speaking upon the reminder by journalists of the 12 soldiers who were martyred due to methane gas, Sancar said, “As we already stated in our announcement yesterday, we experienced deep sorrow. This news arrived while we were in a meeting yesterday. It deeply saddened all of us, including Mr. Öcalan. We have a duty to advance this path so that such pain is not experienced. We wish God's mercy upon them all. We offer our condolences.”

Pervin Buldan, who spoke after Sancar, noted the following:

“I also wish God's mercy upon the martyred soldiers. We received very sad news; we heard today that the number has reached 12. This is where the value of peace becomes clear. We can better understand how precious the peace process is in situations like these. Peace must progress so that none of our people lose their lives from now on.”
