Breaking News: Devlet Bahçeli shifts gears! 'Our decision is clear until Öcalan returns to hope and Demirtaş to his home'

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli made striking statements at his party's parliamentary group meeting.

In his speech, Bahçeli said, "Regardless of what the scoundrels who lowered our flag in Nusaybin, the provocateurs who took to the field in Diyarbakır and Tarsus, and the political circles attempting to wound our national unity through Ayn-El Arab do, I address them all with the words of Pir Sultan Abdal:

'Let them burn me for the love of Truth. Let those who turn back turn back, I shall not turn from my path. Shall I be deprived by turning from my path? Let those who turn back turn back, I shall not turn from my path!'"

Continuing his speech, Bahçeli targeted CHP leader Özgür Özel: "He said, 'You cannot do it by putting a tie on HTS.' As you can see, he has blundered. He has failed again. If you can wear the tie of the YPG and join hands with Mazlum Abdi, you can roam the mountains and stones to sow discord and strife!" he said.

HE MENTIONS 'RIGHT TO HOPE' FOR ÖCALAN FOR THE SECOND TIME

At the end of the group meeting, Bahçeli reiterated his message regarding the 'right to hope' for Abdullah Öcalan, the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, which he had first voiced at the beginning of the second resolution process.

Bahçeli stated, "Our decision is clear until Anatolia returns to peace, Öcalan to hope, the Ahmets to their positions, and Demirtaş to his home!" he said.

"The MHP and the People's Alliance are the political pole of all of Turkey, the entire Turkish nation, and even the Turkish-Islamic world. The three crescents are not just the party of today but also of tomorrow; they are the bridge of ideas connecting the past and the future.

It is almost impossible for those who brood in our nest but lay eggs in other coops, or those who spent their apprenticeship among us but try to act as masters at other squeaky doors, to truly express the nationalist and idealist movement.

A Turkey without terrorism is a move for the Turkish nation to take ownership of its destiny without intermediaries. Whoever turns their nose up at these goals is arid, a puppet, a coward, and in the dark.

Whoever aims to sabotage these goals with their words and actions is purposeful, diseased, harmful, and a pawn.

There is no good intention in trying to carry the well-known events in Syria to Turkey and provoke our Kurdish brothers, and there never will be. Bringing our Kurdish brothers and the terrorist organization YPG side by side is a grave act of ignorance. A new paradigm and a new structure have been formed in Syria. This situation is an expected goal. Furthermore, it is related to the state's sovereign rights, as well as its political, social, and territorial integrity.

On January 30, 2026, the Damascus administration and the SDF/YPG reached an agreement on a comprehensive ceasefire and the gradual integration of military and administrative structures into the Syrian Republic, based on the March 10 and January 18 agreements. This development is gratifying in terms of strengthening Syria's sovereignty and ensuring stability.

State authority has been established. SDF/YPG terrorists will withdraw from their current lines. Government-affiliated units will be deployed to the centers of Hasakah and Qamishli. 

A division consisting of 3 brigades affiliated with the SDF/YPG will be established. The armed elements in Ayn-El Arab will be structured as brigades affiliated with Aleppo.

The call made by the founding leadership of the PKK on February 27, 2025, found its response in Syria 337 days later, and a very important stage has been passed.

Did the founding leadership of the PKK stand behind all the promises it made since February 27, 2025? It did.

Did it ensure the dissolution of the separatist terrorist organization and the burning of weapons? It did.

Did the February 27 call become binding for the PKK and all components of the organization? It did.

Since the goal has been achieved, what falls to us is to request and expect respect for the founding leadership of the PKK from the DEM Party to all organizational extensions. A historic door of opportunity has been opened for Arabs, Kurds, Turkmens, and other peoples to live in unity and brotherhood.

It is possible and should be expected that provocations will occur in Syria, just as in Turkey. Being patient and cautious against this is in everyone's common interest.

ÖZEL IS IN HIS SIGHTS AGAIN

The CHP Chairman finding the Syrian state's fight against terrorism worrying and stating that Mr. Ahmed Shara cannot represent all of Syria is a frustrating delusion.

The words of this person, who carries Assad in his mind and has lost his mind and heart to the YPG, are neither honest nor national.

He said, 'You cannot do it by putting a tie on HTS.' As you can see, he has blundered. He has failed again. If you can wear the tie of the YPG and join hands with Mazlum Abdi, you can roam the mountains and stones to sow discord and strife!

Mr. Özel, stop the nonsense and get to the point! Spill the beans, and admit that your sleep is disturbed because Syria is ensuring its political and territorial integrity.

HE CLOSED THE DOORS TO EARLY ELECTIONS ONCE AGAIN

It is clear when the election will be held. There will never be an early election on the agenda. Even if the CHP Chairman murmurs 'open the election door,' the door we will open as the People's Alliance is the main gate of Turkey and the Turkish Century.
