The Diyarbakır Governor's Office announced that 11 people were injured and 10 suspects were detained during Amedspor's Süper Lig promotion celebrations.
Amedspor, the representative from Diyarbakır, became the second team to be promoted to the Süper Lig after Erzurumspor in the 1st League.
In Diyarbakır, 11 people were injured and 10 were detained during the celebrations marking Amed Sportif Faaliyetler's promotion from the Trendyol 1st League to the Trendyol Süper Lig.
In a statement issued by the Governor's Office, it was noted that some negative incidents occurred during the championship celebrations held across Diyarbakır on May 2-3. It was recorded that a total of 11 people, 8 adults and 3 children, were injured due to the use of firearms (stray bullets), injuries caused by sharp objects, and accidents involving fireworks during the celebrations. It was reported that the injured are not in life-threatening condition, their treatment is continuing in healthcare facilities, and their general condition is good. As part of the investigations conducted regarding the incidents, various types of weapons and criminal elements were seized, and 10 suspects considered to be linked to the events were detained. It was stated that judicial and administrative proceedings regarding the matter are ongoing. Authorities drew attention to the importance of holding celebrations in a way that does not endanger public safety and called on citizens to exercise common sense and caution.
