Breaking News: Ekrem İmamoğlu addresses judges and prosecutors from Silivri

A new statement has been released by CHP presidential candidate and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was detained in a dawn operation on the morning of March 19 and sent to Silivri Prison on March 23 after being arrested on corruption charges.

Addressing judges and prosecutors, İmamoğlu stated, "The first move that will enable the supreme Turkish judiciary to emerge from the worst days in its history, into which it has been dragged by a handful of ambitious individuals, is the fair decisions to be made by tens of thousands of honest, honorable, and dignified judges, prosecutors, and members of the high judiciary."

The following statements were included in the post shared from İmamoğlu's X account:

"The first move that will enable the supreme Turkish judiciary to emerge from the worst days in its history, into which it has been dragged by a handful of ambitious individuals, is the fair decisions to be made by tens of thousands of honest, honorable, and dignified judges, prosecutors, and members of the high judiciary.

This is the only way to end this unlawful process that has deeply shaken our economy, our lives, our hopes, and our future. This is the remedy for our people, who are being tested with hunger and poverty for the sake of political ambition, to find relief.

The great Turkish nation will forever preserve in its conscience and memory, with great gratitude, the honorable stance and attitude that will be shown by our judicial members today.

“The religion of the state is justice.”

What keeps us together and allows us to look at life with confidence is justice.

My dear nation;

What will pull us out of these dark days that have devastated our country's prosperity, peace, and sense of security is the determination and resolve of our 86 million citizens as a whole, especially our youth.

Never give up on your determination, and always keep your hope alive.

May Almighty God protect our nation and our state..."
