Breaking News: Erdoğan's 'new process' message in Diyarbakır: 'The work carried out recently has only one goal...'

The AKP Diyarbakır 8th Ordinary Provincial Congress has begun.

Erdoğan commented on the DEM Party-İmralı meeting that took place after MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli's call and the subsequent developments, saying, "A window of opportunity has opened to end terrorism."

Speaking about the new process, Erdoğan stated, "The work carried out has only one goal: the dissolution of the terrorist organization, the surrender of weapons, the complete removal of the organization's tutelage over politics, providing the political structure that has failed to gain the character of a 'Turkey party' the opportunity to develop in this direction, strengthening our internal front against the increasing conflicts in our region, closing the half-century-old bracket of separatist terrorism, and burying it in history in all its dimensions."

On the other hand, while Erdoğan was speaking, party members attending the congress chanted the slogan "Biji serok Erdoğan" (Long live leader Erdoğan).

"Diyarbakır's peace is Turkey's peace. Diyarbakır's fate is Turkey's fate. Diyarbakır is a city that is the legacy of our common civilization and the seal of Islam. Both friend and foe know very well that this city is more than anything else a cradle of the law of living together. Our brotherhood is the brotherhood of Islam, it is a brotherhood of destiny.

"WE WILL CONTINUE THE SONG OF BROTHERHOOD"

The folk songs of Diyarbakır, which describe our shared life and feelings, are enough on their own to show the world what kind of nation we are. They were playing all sorts of games to undermine brotherhood in these lands. We know their insidious intentions very well. No matter who supports them, those who act as props for treason projects for the sake of small interests will end in frustration. We will continue to sing our songs of brotherhood that come straight from the heart with Diyarbakır.

"WE ARE AT THE STAGE OF BREAKING THE LAST LINK OF THE IMPERIALIST GAME"

We will not let our state's power be eaten by these 'snakes and vipers,' in the words of Ahmed Arif. We are at the stage of breaking the last link of the imperialist game that has caused this nation so much pain and separated it from its children. Every event taking place in our region reveals the true face of the vile scenario being staged a little more.

You also see the pain experienced by those who have lost their unity, togetherness, and brotherhood in our region and in the world. You are also following how terrible the fate of those who do not protect their homeland, who do not protect and strengthen their state, and who do not cherish their country and people becomes.

Whoever tries to spoil or poison the thousand-year-old fabric that makes the lands we live on our common homeland, we will stand against them all together. "IT IS TIME TO SAY NEW THINGS"

It is time to say 'stop' to the pains we have experienced for the last half-century. It is time to say new things. Turkey's long history of fighting terrorism has taken its place in the records as a part of our history, with its rights and wrongs.

We have given thousands of martyrs, from our security forces to our public officials and innocent citizens. Their cherished memories will live on. Let no one have any doubt that every step we take aims to secure the future of our country, which was entrusted to us at the cost of our martyrs' lives.

Besides this, tens of thousands of children of our people in the region, who were deceived by the terrorist organization and taken to the mountains, lost their lives. We know very well the pain of the Diyarbakır Mothers, who have been struggling for five years to reunite with their children who were forcibly abducted to the mountains by the separatist organization.

Our democracy has been directed through terrorism and prevented from reaching the levels it deserves. Undoubtedly, since the late Özal, different methods have been discussed and some attempts have been made to end the terrorism issue. We did not fight terrorism only with security tools.

"WE PUT OUR BODIES UNDER THE STONE"

We took very serious initiatives to end terrorism. We did not hesitate to put our entire bodies under the stone (take full responsibility). Because the structure we were facing listened to the voices of global powers, these efforts did not reach their goal. You remember the efforts from 40 years ago, don't you? Unfortunately, we received the answer to this well-intentioned effort with dug trenches and fired bullets.

"THE WORK CARRIED OUT RECENTLY HAS ONLY ONE GOAL..."

A new and important window of opportunity has opened before our country. We do not find it right for this to be wasted. The work carried out has only one goal: the dissolution of the terrorist organization, the surrender of weapons, the complete removal of the organization's tutelage over politics, providing the political structure that has failed to gain the character of a 'Turkey party' the opportunity to develop in this direction, strengthening our internal front against the increasing conflicts in our region, closing the half-century-old bracket of separatist terrorism, and burying it in history in all its dimensions.

By starting to leave economic difficulties behind from the second half of the year, we will remove this issue from being a problem as well. While the north and south of our country are burning, we are determined to spoil the plans of those who intend to spread this fire to Turkey.

Once the terrorist organization is out of the way, we will embrace each other with sincerity and brotherhood again, as we have throughout history. We will make this geography a geography of brotherhood. This country is ours. This homeland is ours. This flag is ours. This state is ours. Our past is common, and we will build the future together. There is no more 'old Turkey.' There is no saying 'yes' to impositions anymore."
