BREAKING NEWS... Helicopter crashes into Muğla Training and Research Hospital

A helicopter that struck the Muğla Training and Research Hospital has crashed into a vacant area nearby.

Emergency teams are continuing their work at the scene.

4 LIVES LOST

According to initial information, 4 people on board the air ambulance lost their lives. It has been determined that 2 of those who lost their lives were pilots, 1 was a physician, and 1 was a healthcare worker.

It was learned that the 4 personnel were attempting to depart for a patient transfer to Antalya.

FIRST STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNOR

Speaking after the accident, Muğla Governor İdris Akbıyık stated the following:

"There is heavy fog. Because of this, the tail of the helicopter struck the hospital. Our teams have arrived at the scene. Unfortunately, 4 people have lost their lives.

It has been determined that the medical helicopter took off from here to go to Antalya."

STATEMENT FROM THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH

The statement made by the Ministry of Health on its official social media account is as follows:

An air ambulance serving under our Ministry struck the Muğla Training and Research Hospital while taking off and crashed into a vacant area. In the accident that occurred, 4 of our colleagues, including 2 pilots, 1 physician, and 1 healthcare worker, have lost their lives.
