Breaking News: Investigation permit granted regarding Mansur Yavaş

As operations targeting CHP-run municipalities continue, a new development has emerged regarding Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş.

According to information obtained, an investigation permit has been granted regarding Yavaş.

It was alleged that some vehicles belonging to the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality were used during an election event held in Karabük in 2023. The Ankara Metropolitan Municipality announced the investigation permit.

FIRST STATEMENT FROM ANKARA METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY

The following statements were included in the announcement made by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality regarding the matter:

"INFORMATION NOTE REGARDING THE INVESTIGATION PERMIT GRANTED FOR MANSUR YAVAŞ

An investigation permit has been granted regarding Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş based on the allegation that some vehicles belonging to the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality were used during an election rally held in Karabük in 2023.

In the text of the decision in question;

Although the statement 'no information or evidence has been found indicating that he gave relevant orders or instructions' is included, an attempt has been made to attribute responsibility based solely on the assumption that 'it could not be expected to have occurred without his knowledge,' without presenting any concrete instructions, assignments, or direct actions.

Sensitivity has been shown to ensure that public resources were not used even during election periods; Mansur Yavaş did not even accept his mayoral salary during the campaign process. 

He has ensured a strict separation between public resources and political activities.

As a matter of fact, upon this issue being raised on a television program, he personally referred the matter for inspection to leave no room for doubt, and no findings were encountered during the examinations conducted.

Furthermore, it is explicitly stated in the file for which the Ministry of Interior has opened an investigation that no written or verbal instructions were given to use municipal vehicles, personnel, or any other resources for election activities.

Despite all these clear facts, granting an investigation permit without any concrete evidence is a distortion of the law. This approach is nothing more than an attempt at intimidation and character assassination.

While not a single investigation has been opened regarding the former administration, which until today forced employees to attend rallies by organizing buses and utilized all municipal resources during election periods, 

we leave this investigation opened against Mansur Yavaş to the discretion of the public.

The purpose of this investigation permit is merely to fabricate an accusation against Mansur Yavaş and to create a perception in the eyes of the public.

This decision will be appealed, and the public will be further informed through a press conference regarding this and similar attitudes of the Ministry of Interior in comparable situations.
