Breaking News: Kılıçdaroğlu responds to group meeting question! Who will be at the podium?

As the 'management' crisis triggered by the decision of absolute nullity continues within the Republican People's Party (CHP), Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu had notified the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) that there would be no group meeting, but elected Chairman Özgür Özel held his party's group meeting.

Following this development, all eyes have turned to the group meeting on June 9. It is being awaited with curiosity whether Kılıçdaroğlu or Özel will hold the meeting in question.

Kılıçdaroğlu, who was brought to the CHP Chairmanship by a court decision, made his first statement on the matter.

When asked, “We will see you at the group meeting next week,” after the High Disciplinary Board meeting, Kılıçdaroğlu replied, “I hope so, we will all be together.”

WHAT HAD HAPPENED?

Müslim Sarı, who serves as the party spokesperson for the Kılıçdaroğlu administration, announced in a statement yesterday that Kılıçdaroğlu would hold a group meeting at the TBMM on Tuesday.

Following this statement, Zeynel Emre, spokesperson for the elected CHP administration, recalled a response given by the Speaker of the Parliament to a previous application and used the following expressions:

“A letter was written to the Speaker of the Parliament to prevent the group meeting on Tuesday. The Speaker of the Parliament responded in accordance with the legislation. He said, ‘How political parties organize their own groups is in their own internal regulations. Accordingly, the CHP has made a selection in accordance with its own internal regulations. The Group Chairman is clear. The Group Deputy Chairmen are clear.

Therefore, our intervention in this matter is out of the question.’ He pointed out where the authorized and elected group is. Therefore, these can be carried out in line with the group's decision. We do not want to think that the Speaker of the Parliament will turn back from the decision he made just a few days ago.”
