Breaking News: Lawyer Rezan Epözdemir detained!

Lawyer Rezan Epözdemir has been detained as part of an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

According to information shared by journalist Emrullah Erdinç, the accusations directed at Epözdemir include bribery, political and military espionage, and aiding FETÖ.

Within the scope of the investigation, a search was conducted at Epözdemir's home and office, and digital materials were seized. Additionally, it was stated that Epözdemir, who was preparing to travel to London, had restrictions placed on his passport due to four separate charges.

A statement regarding the matter has been issued by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

The statement included the following:

"Rezan EPÖZDEMİR, who has been under investigation for some time by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office within the scope of two separate investigation files on charges of Bribery, Aiding the FETÖ/PDY Armed Terrorist Organization, and Political and Military Espionage, was detained as of 05:45 on 10/08/2025 following simultaneous search operations at his workplace and residence, and the investigations in question are ongoing.
