BREAKING NEWS... Mahir Polat, held in Silivri, hospitalized: His lawyer was not notified!

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Deputy Secretary General Mahir Polat, who was arrested as part of an investigation into the IMM, has been taken from Silivri Prison to a hospital by ambulance. While no official statement has been made regarding Polat's health status, his lawyers stated that they were not informed about the transfer process.

WE CANNOT GET INFORMATION ABOUT THE REASON FOR THE TRANSFER

One of Polat's lawyers, Erkam Erdem, stated in a post on his social media account, "Our lawyer colleague who wanted to have a meeting at the prison learned that Polat had been taken to the hospital by ambulance. We hope this is a pre-planned transfer and that it was not done due to an emergency health problem."

HE WAS RECEIVING TREATMENT FOR A HEART CONDITION

Before being taken into custody, Polat had undergone an angioplasty and had six stents inserted. In his police statement, he had said, "There is a blockage in two of my vessels. An angioplasty was planned again for this in two weeks."

Furthermore, stating that he has a history of thyroid cancer and that regular PET scans are performed, Polat detailed his health problems by saying, "I sleep connected to a device due to my sleep apnea. I also have hypertension and diabetes."

Polat was also taken to the hospital after falling ill at Silivri Prison in recent days and was sent back to prison after his treatment.

HE EXPERIENCED BLOOD PRESSURE PROBLEMS

CHP Ankara Deputy Umut Akdoğan announced that Mahir Polat was taken to the hospital due to blood pressure problems.

''Our friend Mahir Polat was taken to the prison emergency room at 21.00 due to a blood pressure problem. He was then transferred to Mehmet Akif Thoracic Diseases Hospital. His blood pressure has now returned to normal. There is no life-threatening danger, but keeping Mahir Polat in prison any longer is unacceptable.

Mahir Polat's health problems are serious. No one can take responsibility for this. I am warning you.''

'HIS BLOOD PRESSURE HAS NOT DROPPED'

Mahir Polat's lawyer, Erkam Erdem, announced that Polat's blood pressure has not yet dropped and his condition remains serious.

"WE RECEIVED INFORMATION THAT HE WAS SENT FOR AN ANGIOGRAM"

Regarding Polat, who was transferred to Mehmet Akif Thoracic Diseases Hospital, lawyer Erkan Erdem stated, "His blood pressure has still not reached the desired level. We have received information that he has been sent for an angiogram."
