Metro derails and hits wall in İzmir!
A metro train in motion in İzmir derailed at the Sanayi station and struck a wall. It has been reported that numerous teams have been dispatched to the area.
A metro train in motion derailed at the entrance of the Sanayi Metro Station in the Bornova district of İzmir and struck a wall.
While the vehicle sustained damage due to the accident, numerous teams were dispatched to the area.
STATEMENT FROM İZMİR METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY
The İzmir Metropolitan Municipality issued a statement regarding the metro accident. The statement from the municipality included the following remarks;
“The last carriage of our metro train traveling in the direction of Evka-3 derailed at the entrance of the Sanayi Station and struck the platform wall.
Our greatest relief is that there were no injuries. A technical investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the accident.
Efforts to remove the train are ongoing. Operations will continue on a single line with service every 15 minutes.”
