Breaking News... Military helicopter crashes into the sea in Qatar: 3 personnel martyred

It has been learned that 2 ASELSAN and 1 TSK personnel on board the military helicopter that crashed into the sea in Qatar have been martyred.

In a statement regarding the matter, the Ministry of National Defense stated, “Military cooperation and coordination activities between the Republic of Türkiye and the State of Qatar are being carried out without interruption within the framework of existing agreements and plans.

A helicopter belonging to the Qatar Armed Forces, which was conducting training activities within the Qatar-Turkish Combined Joint Force Command, crashed into the sea on the evening of March 21 due to a technical malfunction, according to initial findings.

With the search and rescue operation immediately initiated, the wreckage of the helicopter and the bodies of our martyrs were reached. In the accident, 4 Qatar Armed Forces personnel on board the helicopter, one of our Turkish Armed Forces personnel, and two of our ASELSAN technicians were martyred. The exact cause of the crash will be determined as a result of the investigation to be conducted by Qatari authorities.

We wish God's mercy upon all our martyrs who lost their lives in this tragic accident, patience to their families, and we extend our condolences to our Turkish Armed Forces, the Qatar Armed Forces, ASELSAN, the Turkish nation, and the brotherly people of Qatar.”
