The Ministry of Health announced that 3 Turkish citizens who were on the cruise ship MV Hondius, where 3 people lost their lives due to hantavirus, have been brought to Turkey by air ambulance.

The Ministry stated that a total of 5 people, including 2 who had previously entered the country, are being kept under observation and that the results of the tests performed have come back negative.

In the statement made by the Ministry, it was noted that close monitoring and isolation processes for the citizens brought into the country have been initiated. The statement indicated that, as with the 2 people who had previously entered the country, the necessary samples were also taken from the 3 people most recently brought in.

While it was recorded that the test results for all 5 individuals were negative, it was conveyed that they would be kept in quarantine for the recommended period. The Ministry of Health also announced that no clinical signs or symptoms have been encountered in the individuals monitored so far.

The Ministry's statement is as follows:

"Our last 3 citizens who were on an international cruise ship have been brought to our country by air ambulance, and their close monitoring and isolation processes have begun.

As with the 2 people who had previously entered the country, the necessary samples were taken from these individuals. Their results have been determined to be negative; they will be kept in quarantine for the recommended period.

In the monitoring conducted, no clinical signs or symptoms have been encountered in the 5 individuals so far."
