Breaking News... Ministry of National Defense announces condition for withdrawal from Syria: Response to claims that S-400s will be returned

Ministry of National Defense Press and Public Relations Advisor and Ministry Spokesperson Rear Admiral Zeki Aktürk held a weekly press briefing at the Ministry's Martyr Journalist Hasan Tahsin Press Briefing Hall.

CONDITION FOR WITHDRAWAL FROM SYRIA ANNOUNCED

"The Turkish Armed Forces are present in Syria within the scope of the right to self-defense arising from international law, in order to ensure the security of our country and our borders, to combat terrorism, and to prevent a terror corridor. The withdrawal of our troops from Syria is a matter that can only be re-evaluated once our border security is fully ensured and the terror threat is completely eliminated."

RESPONSE TO CLAIMS THAT S-400S WILL BE RETURNED

Responding to media reports claiming that Russia wants the S-400 air defense systems back, Ministry of National Defense sources stated, "The S-400 Air Defense Systems are in our inventory. There is no change in our stance regarding the S-400 issue."

ISRAEL'S MOVE IN SOUTH CYPRUS

"We are closely following the reports in the press regarding the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus (GCA) procuring an Air Defense System from Israel. We would like to remind once again that the GCA's ongoing armament efforts and activities that will undermine peace and stability on the Island could lead to dangerous consequences. Every attempt to disrupt the balance on the Island is being monitored carefully, and all necessary measures are being taken for the security and peace of the TRNC. Turkey stands with and supports the TRNC today, just as it did yesterday. The Turkish Cypriot people are also under the guarantee of Turkey."

INTERNATIONAL CALL FOR GAZA

"Israel's attacks targeting civilians in Gaza and its provocative actions toward countries in the region are a clear indication of its intention to drag the Middle East into total instability once again. The international community can no longer ignore the systematic persecution, state terrorism, and genocide taking place in Gaza. We invite the international community to take effective and deterrent steps without further delay, and to take serious measures against Israel in order to ensure peace and stability in the region."
