Breaking News... Ministry of National Defense announces: Patriot System deployed in Malatya
The Ministry of National Defense has announced that NATO has increased its air and missile defense measures due to recent developments in the region and rising security risks. In this context, it was reported that a Patriot air defense system has been deployed in Malatya to support the protection of Turkey's airspace.
The US-backed Israel-Iran war is steadily increasing tensions in the Middle East. Following the fall of a ballistic missile fragment from Iran into Dörtyol, Hatay, a piece of ammunition also fell into Gaziantep yesterday.
The Ministry of National Defense issued a written statement regarding the measures taken due to the rising tension.
The Ministry of National Defense announced that new measures have been implemented for Turkey's air defense due to increasing security risks.
The statement included the following: "In addition to the measures we have taken at the national level, air and missile defense measures have been increased by NATO. In this context, a Patriot System, tasked with providing support for the protection of our airspace, is being deployed in Malatya."

"STATEMENT REGARDING THE PATRIOT SYSTEM DEPLOYED IN MALATYA
Our Turkish Armed Forces are fully committed to ensuring the security of our country and our citizens. Within the scope of recent developments in our region, necessary measures are being taken for the security of our borders and our airspace, and consultations are being held with NATO and our Allies.
In addition to the measures we have taken at the national level, air and missile defense measures have been increased by NATO. In this context, a Patriot System, tasked with providing support for the protection of our airspace, is being deployed in Malatya.
Our country, which maintains its defense and security capacity at the highest level, will continue to evaluate developments in cooperation and consultation with NATO and our Allies, and to strive for regional peace and stability.
