Breaking News: Özgür Özel reveals his 'gift' for the AKP's anniversary! Here are the documents that will shake the agenda...
CHP leader Özgür Özel spoke at a press conference held at his party's headquarters regarding the 'gift' for the AKP's anniversary that he had hinted at yesterday. In his statement, Özel claimed that Mücahit Birinci, who has held various positions within the AKP, told Murat Kapki, who is currently detained in the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) investigation, to "slander, pay 2 million dollars, and get out of this." He shared the documents in which Kapki recounts these events with the public.
Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel, at his party's 'Defending the National Will' rally in Bayrampaşa yesterday, pointed to August 14, the anniversary of the AKP's founding, and stated, "We will give the best gift on the Justice and Development Party's anniversary. I am calling on all members of the press. You are stealing mayors from us, but tomorrow at 12 noon, we will see what happens!"
Public attention has turned to the statement Özgür Özel was set to make.
"Before and after this will be different," said Özel, adding, "It is one of the important milestones of the AKP government's drift and exhaustion... Undoubtedly, the AKP government is not ending today. But we have come to leave behind an important milestone in the process of extinction that has already begun."
Özel, who announced that AKP member Mücahit Birinci told Murat Kapki, who was arrested in the İBB investigation and benefited from effective remorse, to "slander, pay 2 million dollars, and get out of this," shared the documents in question with the public.

Highlights from Özel's statements are as follows:
"We are in an era of those who see democracy as a train to board when it suits them and to get off after March 31; those who said this years ago and implemented this practice, who told their voters in the past that 'we are clashing with headlines' but today slander their opponents with headlines; those who say 'we are against centers of tutelage' but now try to block civil politics with the centers of tutelage they have created; those who make others slander, make others insult, and apply double standards; those who apply double standards to the opposition; those who file lawsuits if they are told 'ugh,' but on the other hand, remain silent against all kinds of attacks, insults, and slander.
Today is an anniversary. We are in an era of those who set out as the 'Movement of the Virtuous' but have turned into a movement of conspirators and slanderers today; those whose hems are dripping with filth, who know this best about each other, but are trying to continue this dark order.
Now, as of 12:00 today, this is a cross-section; of course, what comes before and after this will be different, but this is a cross-section. It is one of the important milestones of the AKP government's drift and exhaustion.
Undoubtedly, the AKP's government is not ending today; but we have come to leave behind an important milestone in the process of exhaustion, drift, and extinction that has already begun. We are in the midst of an important process that we must briefly touch upon and recall.
148 days have passed since the March 19 coup. Those who were to carry out the March 19 coup appointed someone last year on October 9 from a political position, deputy minister, to a very important, critical, neutral, fearless, and unconnected position like the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
He was sent for the previous one, saying, 'This one couldn't handle it, this kid can.' After the previous chief prosecutor's objections of 'I cannot do what you are saying, I cannot go outside the law,' the person who did everything he was told in the past, who always went outside the law; who was paraded from court to court like a mobile guillotine to quickly deliver the desired decisions, who put Selahattin Demirtaş in prison, imposed a ban on Canan Kaftancıoğlu, and entered the Grup Yorum case; the person who was completely politicized and had given problematic political decisions, was rewarded and brought to a critical position like the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
After that day, this process began. We had already characterized the ongoing process as a coup attempt against the future administration, against the future president, 1 month before March 19.
They started investigating the apartments Ekrem İmamoğlu sold 20 years ago: 'Did you give money under the table?' 20 years ago, an apartment is sold in this country; it has a value in the title deed, and there is also an amount given under the table. There were some who were so small-minded that they went after that, found the bank where İmamoğlu put the money he received under the table, and tried to assign other meanings to it and calculate it.
They started an extremely shameful process in those days that they would carry out with the most unjust attacks and the most unjust pressures imaginable on the families, spouses, and circles of our mayors.
On March 19, the coup declaration was published. The main headline of the declaration was this: Ekrem İmamoğlu committed 560 billion liras of corruption; this money was seized and he was detained; he will appear before the court to be arrested.
After that day, the giant safes they said they 'found'... The ones they said 'they placed the safes with cranes'... There is no crane, no safe, no money. Not a single penny.
It turned out that the money they called 560 billion was 70 billion more than the 6-year budget of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, which we have been managing for 6 years. Even if you stole all the money distributed to the personnel, all the revenue collected, and all the lights turned on, it still doesn't add up to this money. They couldn't prove a single lira of it.
In the process we have reached by dealing with such big lies, look at what we are coming to today.
To fill the empty file, they first gave tree names to secret witnesses: oaks, spruces, plane trees... Those secret witnesses said some things, but the ECHR and Constitutional Court decisions say that you must support what the secret witness says with concrete evidence. Those who sent them there said, 'Go look, you will find it as if you placed it with your own hands.' A person knows the work from himself.
This business was carried out by contractors saying, 'They wanted this, this, and this; they also put it here.' They made the spruces, plane trees, and oaks slander; they couldn't find a single piece of concrete evidence. If they had found it, it would have been enough: If a safe had come out where he said spruce, if money had come out, if corruption had come out... But there is none, none, none.
Then the business came to a new mechanism: A mandatory lawyer for everyone, for one person. It's not legal, it's forbidden; but why? So that news doesn't come or go?
The 'slander and get out' mechanism. Some were made to say 'I heard,' there are hundreds of confession statements. But most are not; they said 'I think I heard,' maybe they did it with these, they did... Everyone who came along made someone else slander. It reached such a point that the moment they called the person they called for a confession, they also detained his wife. The wife is in custody, in the evening they said, 'I hope you will be together'; either in Silivri or in your own home.
Now such a thread will start to unravel that, from these confessions, from these confession statements, it will reach such a point that this business will reach a point where those who make these confessions will explain how they were forced to slander. The world's largest organized evil movement will collapse; there will be films of this to be watched worldwide.
As long as these displayed courage continues to be shown. And let's be able to say here at 17:00, the ballot boxes are closed, the nightmare is over. We are at an extremely important point in terms of seeing how bad those who hold all the means of the state can become.
We are facing such recklessness... When they get a little upset, when they deal with them a little, they can threaten us by putting a white Toros in front of them and taking a photo... We are facing a recklessness and frenzy that can share a white Toros on the day Erdoğan says, 'This country suffered a lot from white Toros.'
The JİTEM members of the 90s were this brave, supposedly, and this arrogant; now Erdoğan's White Toros-ers in Çağlayan have reached this point. We have reached such a point that we have compiled all the information we have about this gang; we applied to the HSK 15 days ago. I told some of these to our Parliament Speaker, for example, I said, 'You are a lawyer, can these happen?' Numan Kurtulmuş's face was not in a state to deny it; he said, 'If these exist, let me die.'
The expression on their faces when we told them these was very grave.
If all of Çağlayan doesn't know, if the entire judiciary doesn't know; if those who are currently watching me from the Court of Cassation building, from the Council of State building, from the Court of Jurisdictional Disputes, from the Constitutional Court, from the high judiciary don't know; if the AKP members don't know... There are things in the judiciary in Turkey that are done with money, there are stock markets; the decision comes out according to this, according to that, according to the lawyer.
If this is a lie, if you don't believe this, if you don't suspect this, I am dishonorable, I am a scoundrel; but you all know it exists. These have become a gang. These are in Çağlayan... There is something called a stock market, there is a multi-faceted stock market; the İBB has a separate stock market, there is a stock market within a stock market. There are dozens of stock markets in Çağlayan; there is a completely different stock market even in the fight against drug trafficking. There is a lawyer who can finish even that business, there is a prosecutor who can even be approached for it.
The salt has not rotted, it has become mud; the water, the sewer has exploded.
Last week, we were the first to expose an important dimension of the İBB stock market. When we exposed it, they immediately went to that house, wherever they knew it from. They are looking for someone, they couldn't find the person they were looking for in that house; they took his mother.
The prosecutor said: 'If he is not at home, take one of his relatives and come.' He has no lawyer; when his lawyer came along and was a bit harsh, they released the mother. The son went on foot from his own district, from the district to the center, from the center to the police station. He was detained, they brought him to Istanbul in a day and a half. They were held at Vatan Police Headquarters, they brought him before a judge.
We insisted, we waited; we did not give the documents on hand to the HSK so that they wouldn't tell them there and treat them accordingly. Those procedures were finished, we went and made our application to the HSK; also we did our cross-check, we are doing it once more.
Now I claim from here, I even know that... The İBB investigation, the İBB is a huge structure, 90 thousand people work there. It would be a state in Europe. They are detaining a significant portion of the contractors working with this place from the İBB, they are putting them inside; then they are making them confessors. 'I heard, maybe, I don't know...' comes out.
What happened to these contractors, that is, the right lawyer going to him, telling him how to testify, and the issue of 'if you give this, you will be released,' started to sound like a normal thing.
The investigation is secret; that is, when the prosecutor goes to the house, he of course gives what he found in that house to Sabah, to Yeni Şafak. But actually, if the country were a state of law, an investigation would be opened into it being given to that Yeni Şafak, and it would be asked, 'How did you reach these in an investigation that is confidential?' This prosecutor must be found; one must get rid of that prosecutor first and then pursue justice.
After what happened last week, Yener Toruner spoke with Mehmet Yıldırım, who is detained in the İBB investigation. He also saw him, spoke with him; spoke about his daughter's wedding. They canceled the wedding, he said, 'That wedding can be held, you can get out until the wedding.' His son was working at the İBB; the prosecutor knows this too, he said, 'We will take the boy too, it will be a pity for the boy.'
Also, he said, 'Come, let's settle this business; sign your signature nicely, say these things.' When the person said, 'I can't do this, I can't do this,' the prosecutor said, 'Don't be afraid, the prosecutor also knows; if I say this, he will hold me responsible for something else,' he spoke and said, 'He will not enter into other subjects than this.'
Mr. Yener Toruner gave all of these as a criminal complaint, writing them line by line; we also gave this to the HSK.
