Breaking News: Özgür Özel speaks in Saraçhane and points to tomorrow!

Following the detention of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, support visits from political parties to the CHP have begun.

Democrat Party leader Gültekin Uysal met with CHP Chairman Özgür Özel in Saraçhane.

The two leaders made statements following the support visit.

Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel stated the following:

"From the very first moment, we have seen complete and very strong support and solidarity from all political parties. Yesterday, tens of thousands came here to Saraçhane, despite the previously announced ban on gatherings.

Today, we will be here again at 8:30 PM with our Mayor Mansur. We are waiting for all Istanbulites here.

We will be here together again today. We will be here tomorrow as well.

Many political parties are visiting to show solidarity.

Tomorrow, we may be able to announce a gathering that includes the participation of political parties."

"A TIME-TRIGGERED PROCESS..."

DP leader Uysal made the following statements:

"Everyone knows the ship is taking on water, everyone knows the captain is lying, everyone knows the dice are loaded, and everyone knows that the judiciary has been given instructions in violation of the constitution and laws, and that this trial process has begun...

We are in a period of time that we must name. We believe that all our citizens must realize that we have reached the end of the democracy-appearing game played by political Islamists, the AKP, and Erdoğan at the end of a 20-year Interregnum of the Republic. We believe that no citizen should surrender to this, like a frog boiling in a pot, where the legitimacy of democracy has been destroyed, and the administration and executive branch have destroyed it by taking instructions despite the constitution and laws.

We know why they have come to this point in the person of Mr. İmamoğlu. We are witnessing that those who see they can no longer write a success story at the ballot box after the 2024 local elections are carrying out a planned, time-triggered process to destroy democratic competition.

VISIT FROM DEM PARTY

DEM Party Co-Chair Tülay Hatimoğulları paid a solidarity visit to CHP Chairman Özgür Özel in Saraçhane.

Özgür Özel said, "The people have the final say. Sovereignty belongs unconditionally to the nation. The ballot box is both the trust and the guarantee of the Republic for us."

Tülay Hatimoğulları stated, "We characterize this as a coup against the will of the people in Turkey, primarily regarding the right to vote and be elected. It is impossible to accept this."

VISIT TO CHP HEADQUARTERS FROM ZAFER AND GELECEK PARTIES

Meanwhile, visits to the CHP Headquarters continue. Most recently, delegations from the Victory Party (Zafer Partisi) and the Future Party (Gelecek Partisi) visited the CHP Headquarters to convey their support regarding the ongoing process.
