Turkish Bakers Federation President Halil İbrahim Balcı announced this year's Ramadan pita prices to the public at a press conference. According to the statement, the price per kilogram of Ramadan pita has been increased by 23 percent to 100 liras.

ANKARA AND ISTANBUL PRICES HAVE BEEN SET

According to the determined tariff, a 250-gram Ramadan pita will be offered for sale at 25 liras in Ankara and Istanbul. This represents a 25 percent increase in major cities for the 250-gram pita, which was sold for 20 liras last year.

According to the new price list, 350-gram Ramadan pitas will be sold for 35 liras this year.

Evaluating the determination of the prices, Turkish Bakers Federation President Halil İbrahim Balcı stated that the price increase for pita was 23 percent, adding, "While determining the price, we took into account the purchasing power of our people and inflation."

NO PRICE HIKE FOR BREAD DURING RAMADAN

Balcı also emphasized that bakery tradespeople have made sacrifices regarding the price increases. Stating that there was no price hike for bread in January despite increases in labor wages and operating costs, Balcı said that expenses also rose in February, but there will be no increase in bread prices throughout the month of Ramadan.

MESSAGE REGARDING PRICE HIKE FOR MARCH

In the statement, it was expressed that the price per kilogram of bread will continue to be sold at 75 liras during the month of Ramadan. Stating that a price hike for bread could be implemented after Ramadan, that is, towards the end of March, Balcı said, "We will determine whatever the most reasonable price is together with the Ministry of Trade."
