Fatih Altaylı was arrested and sent to prison on June 22 on charges of "threatening the president" following remarks targeting him by Oktay Saral, chief advisor to AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
During the trial process, Altaylı was sentenced to 4 years and 2 months in prison, and the court had ruled for the continuation of his detention.
REGIONAL APPEALS COURT ISSUED RELEASE ORDER
Appeals filed by Altaylı's lawyers to the higher court had previously been rejected. However, the Regional Appeals Court, having reviewed the file, ruled today for the release of Fatih Altaylı.
