Breaking News: Statement from MHP and DEM Party following the meeting!

In the new resolution process architected by Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan had issued a call to lay down arms on February 27.

Following the terrorist leader's call for disarmament, the DEM Party delegation began visiting political parties in Parliament.

The DEM Party delegation, consisting of DEM Party Co-Chairs Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan, DEM Party Group Deputy Chair Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit, and Sırrı Süreyya Önder, visited the MHP.

MHP Deputy Chairmen Semih Yalçın, Feti Yıldız, and İsmail Faruk Aksu welcomed the DEM Party delegation at the door. MHP leader Bahçeli had announced in a statement yesterday that he would not be able to participate in the meeting.

The meeting between the two parties began at 11:00. The first image from the MHP-DEM Party meeting has been released.

After the MHP, the DEM Party will visit the AKP at 14:00.

Following the one-hour meeting, Tülay Hatimoğulları made a statement on behalf of the DEM Party.

Stating that they would provide a detailed explanation after all meetings throughout the day are completed, Hatimoğulları said:

"We extend our thanks to the MHP delegation for receiving us. We also convey our get-well wishes to Mr. Bahçeli. We wish him a speedy recovery."

Semih Yalçın spoke on behalf of the MHP. Stating that they would not make a statement regarding the meeting, Yalçın said, "It was a very useful meeting."
